The Effects of pH and water hardness on the foaming properties of sodium taurine methyl Cocoyl and the properties of the mixture with Amphoteric Surfactants were investigated, the irritancy of sodium methyl Cocoyl taurine and its application in shampoo formulation were also investigated. The results show that the pH Stability of methyl Cocoyl taurine sodium range is wide, the hard water resistance is good, and the synergistic thickening effect with Betaine Amphoteric Surfactant is better, in particular, the compound with acyl hydroxy sulfobetaine has better thickening effect; The skin cholesterol dissolution test and red blood cell hemolysis test show that its irritation is very low; The methyl Cocoyl taurine sodium is applied to the transparent shampoo formula, the prepared sulfate-free transparent shampoo has good stability and low eye irritation.

Abstract:
Sodium Cocoyl methyl taurine is synthesized from coconut oleic acid and sodium N-methyl taurate by acyl chlorination and Schotten-Baumann condensation reaction. Its toxicity is lower than that of K12, it is an anionic surfactant with high safety. With excellent salt resistance, hard water resistance, alkali resistance, foaming is also very good, as a non-toxic, non-irritating surface active agent is an ideal choice for toothpaste foaming agent.

Abstract:
Sodium Cocoyl methyl taurate was synthesized by acyl chloride and Schotten-Baumann condensation reaction from coconut oleic acid and N-methyl taurate sodium. The effects of reaction temperature, reaction time, feed ratio, Catalyst type and solvent dosage on the condensation reaction were investigated, and the optimal condensation reaction process was obtained. Performance analysis shows that the product has low surface tension and critical micelle concentration, foaming performance is better than the same imported products, and the hard water resistance is good.
